I recently finished reading The Articulate Mammal by Jean Aitchison, which is an introduction to psycholinguistics; and I liked it a lot. It deals with the three basic questions of psycholinguistics:

New article: Reference Works

I've just written another non-technical article. In it I briefly present the (English and German) language reference works I usually consult when writing, especially for university.

New article: Design Principles

It was about time that I took up writing for the site again, which I did last night. Before I went on and wrote about how to do stuff in word processors or LaTeX, I wanted to give you some general design principles to keep in mind. I did so by summarising The Non-Designer’s Design Book.

Tutorial on stapling

I just wrote a brief tutorial on using the stapling function on photocopiers. Actually, it's not so much a tutorial as an appeal to use this function, which only few people seem to know about.

The first tutorial is on typing Japanese text on Ubuntu 8.10, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS X. I realise this won't be interesting for everyone, but I was recently asked how to do that.
